Chipotle in partnership with Tony Hawk revealed the new Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater game releasing later in 2020. Tony Hawk, Finn Wolfhard, and Jagger Eaton were featured in a one day broadcast promoting the new Tony Hawk game release, and providing promotional codes to access the game, and thousands of free burrito coupons for Chipotle rewards program members. The demo and burritos were distributed to thousands of fans, and the broadcast featured webcam and game capture from the three celebrity participants who faced off in a series of in-game challenges while answering questions from fans.

The Big 12 Esports Challenge is a series of tournaments featuring Madden NFL 20 and Super Smash Bros Ultimate. The Big 12 Conference Madden Challenge was a tournament featuring Madden and each school in the Big 12 having their own qualifier with the top players from each school moving onto the championship bracket for a $1000 prize pool. The Big 12 Esports Challenge was a Super Smash Bros tournament that was open to the community and had a $2000 prize pool split among the top 4 players.

The Lierfield IMG College Challenger Series is a culmination of 94 conference & individual school tournament series hosted between Fall 2020 – Spring 2021. As of Spring, 2021, the challenger series has had 3,670 players compete across the 94 individual tournament series. Schools and conferences with rights held by Learfield IMG were given the opportunity to opt into hosting their own individual tournament series. Each tournament was able to select their own game title, uniquely branded tournament site, and prize pool offerings.

The ESPN Collegiate Esports Championship was the first of its kind, housing the championships of five game titles’ 2019 competitive season under a single LAN event. Players from hundreds of colleges throughout North America competed in a series of qualifiers, with 20 different universities qualifying for single, or multiple event championships. Leading up to the event, 6 ESPN broadcasted episodes of the ‘Collegiate Esports Championship Countdown’ were produced and broadcasted every Friday leading up to the Championship weekend, May 9th – 12th. Over the course of that three-day Championship event at Comicpalooza, over 50,000 Comicpalooza attendees stopped by and over 1 Million viewers watched on Twitch.

Conference One is a national varsity valorant tournament operator that organizes and broadcasts a spring and fall league. Scholarships and prize money are available in each of their leagues for the varsity programs that participate and perform well. In the spring league there was a $10,000 prize pool split amongst the top 4 placing teams. CF1 aims to drive collegiate esports forward through these competitions.

The Chick-fil-A DFW High School Esports Tournament was a tournament that was open to all high school students in the Dallas-Fort Worth area of Texas and was created alongside Mind Dance and Chick-fil-A. The tournament took place over 2 weekends and consisted of a 7 round swiss bracket with the top 16 qualifying into the championship bracket. The top 4 teams all won a year’s supply of chick-fil-a sandwiches with over $2500 in prize money going to the top 3 teams.

Launch Esports is a partnership between Steel Curtain Properties and Mainline to grow esports within the Steel Curtain Property groups. The KCAC Madden Invitational was a conference tournament that was for the schools within the conference and their surrounding communities.  The players all competed in a single elimination bracket and the top 4 all received prizes consisting of Visa gift cards, and the first 50 participants all received a free Chick-fil-A sandwich. The Battle of Humboldt County was a rocket league tournament where Homboldt State and the College of the Redwoods held their own qualifiers with the top team from each school to face off in the Battle of Humboldt County championships. The winning team from each school received prizes and the first 50 students to sign up all received a Battle of Humboldt County t-shirt.

Great American Rivalry Series partnered with hundreds of highschool programs across the United States to host a Madden 20 challenge series to replace their regular season play due to Covid restrictions. The series garnered 2,657 signups, where players were broken into 8 different groups of play and would go on to compete in multiple tournament phases before reaching the championship. The event championship quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals were broadcasted allowing students to root for their respective school in the final bracket series.

The Collegiate Esports Invitational: Rocket League tournament was an inter-collegiate rocket league tournament between 8 invited collegiate conferences with a $5000 prize for the first place team. Each conference had their own conference qualifier where the top 2 teams from each conference qualified for the championship bracket. The tournament took place over one week from February 2nd to February 7th with the 6th and 7th being dedicated to a broadcasted championship bracket.
